Steinaker Reservoir Netting Results

So an interesting mix of fish but super impressed by all the nice Brown Trout in the lake right now! They were multiple Browns on each of the nine nets we set. Largest Brown was 25 1/4. Also impressive largemouth bass with the biggest at 6lbs 5oz and healthy. They must be confused with the rising water levels and the cool temps but they are ripe and ready to spawn. Lots of good cover with the water up let's hope it stays long enough for the bass to get a good spawn off and egg stay under water. Nice Bluegill along the dam and also In The bay next to the camp ground. Biggest one in the nets was almost 10" fat and healthy. We captured many rainbow trout and even 4 of the tagged ones for the contest, but nothing big like what we saw with the Browns. Side note and we new it would happen someday...large female walleye captured by the dam. 20 inches female loaded with eggs. Bucket biologists at it again and it's very frustrating! Pics for you to use on Facebook page and where ever else. ps we will be back out tomorrow to finish tagging bluegill for the contest. Thanks - Natalie
